1. Coat of arms above a fountain at Calle Real

Probably one of the most famous and well-known Instagram spots in Frigiliana is the crossroads at one of the main streets – Calle Real. There is a huge coat of arms above a fountain and two main streets parting ways.

This place indicates the entrance to the Old Town of Frigiliana. Usually, this is a busy place during the day, but if you come here in the morning you will get this place all to yourself. This is also the beginning of the most popular walking route through the village.

2. Flower pot staircase at Calle Zacatin

Frigiliana village was built in levels which means that streets connecting houses go uphill. There are multiple places around the village where such streets are actually stairs.

Typical of Frigiliana, those stairs are decorated with flower pots and plants to make them attractive and alive. This was definitely one of the most greenest and flowerful streets I saw in Frigiliana!

One of my favorite staircases is located on Calle Zacatin which connects two main sightseeing streets – Calle Real and Calle Alta. This is definitely one of the most beautiful Instagram spots in Frigiliana village.

3. Turquoise doors of La Tahona restaurant

Located on the same staircase on Calle Zacatin is this beautiful corner – turquoise doors of La Tahona restaurant. Of course, there are many beautiful doors in Frigiliana in all shades of blue, however, I thought these were extra special.

Decorated with flowers and plants, with beautiful lanterns, and an arched brick window these doors stand out from the rest. Besides those two white lion sculptures at the entrance complete the look and makes it one of the most unique Instagram spots here.

4. Tunnel to Restaurante El Adarve

Hidden away on Calle Alta is this secret tunnel leading to Restaurante El Adarve. Built out of red bricks this doorway is covered by logs of wood and decorated with huge plants.

By the way, the restaurant is actually pretty good with a terrace that has amazing views over the village. Check it out, in case you are hungry when you arrive at this spot, haha!

5. Stairs at Calle El Garral

One of the most special and beautiful places in Frigiliana is these beautiful stairs at Calle El Garral. This is probably my favorite hidden corner in Frigiliana.

The stairs connect Calle Santa Teresa de Avila which goes higher uphill to Calle Real which goes lower down the slope. At the bottom of the staircase, you will find a local tourist attraction – Fuente Tres Culturas, or the Fountain of Three Cultures.

6. Blue doors of La Casita

At the bottom of the stairs of Calle El Garral, you will find another special place and one of my favorite Instagram spots in Frigiliana – the blue doors of La Casita house. These were my favorite blue doors in Frigiliana!

Decorated with a cactus and plants these doors stand out amongst the rest. They not only have a beautiful arched shape but the house also has a small arch-shaped window. I loved this spot! It is located right next to the Fountain of Three Cultures.

7. Charming corner at Restaurant El Mesón

One of the coolest spots in Frigiliana was this little corner hidden between two restaurants. There is a small brick staircase with a beautiful flower plant hanging over it.

We visited this place at the end of March so the flowers were not in full bloom yet, but it looks beautiful anyway. The staircase is lined with plant pots and a unique blue barrel.

We tried to come here for tapas but they were not accepting customers that day due to the low tourist season. If you come here at a more popular time of the year, you can get to sit at the tables outdoors and enjoy the surroundings.

8. Crossroads at Calle Real and Callejón de las Ánimas

The quiet village life! We loved wandering around Frigiliana in the morning when the villagers were still waking up. This meant that the streets were empty and we could use this opportunity to snap some photos of beautiful corners around Frigiliana.

This cool Instagram photo spot in Frigiliana is located at Calle Real – one of the main streets in Frigiliana Old Town. I love how it characterizes Frigiliana perfectly – steep slopes, white houses, blue doors, some plants, and mountain views. Everything you get in this tiny village!

9. La Fuente Vieja

This unique and beautiful three-part fountain – La Fuente Vieja – hidden in a small square is considered the oldest fountain in Frigiliana village.

It was built in the 17th century in order to supply the population of the village as well as cattle with water. The fountain still works today and is a beautiful reminder of the past days.

10. Flowerpot stairs at Calle Hernando el Darra

Another beautiful stairs with flower and plant pots you will find on Calle Hernando el Darra. It is located just a few steps away from Calle Real – one of the main streets for exploring the village.

With flower and plant pots not only sitting on the stairs but also hanging on the walls this is definitely one of the most beautiful Instagram spots in the village. Those flower pot stairs are just something special, right?!

11. Secret tunnels of Frigiliana

If you walk around Frigiliana, from time to time you will notice that some streets are connected through the tunnels or some houses can be accessed through the tunnels.

Those tunnels are really cool photo spots so definitely use this opportunity to snap a cool photo reminder of this village. See the photo locations below.

12. Red brick archway

Located right next to the wooden tunnel that I mentioned above, there is this unusual and unique hidden gem in Frigiliana – a red brick archway. It is a super cool spot to take a photo while exploring the village.

13. Mirador de Frigiliana viewpoint

A must-do thing for anyone visiting Frigiliana is climbing up to the higher levels of the village to see it from above. There are multiple viewpoints and places to see Frigiliana from above, but I enjoyed this Mirador de Frigiliana the most (location below).

I also recommend finding a nice restaurant or tapas bar with a terrace and a good view overlooking the village. We stopped at Restaurante El Mirador-Frigiliana. It was a bit average. You can check out Restaurante El Adarve or La Tahona del Zacatin which seem to be a better choice and are located nearby.

14. Stairs to wooden doors

While walking around Frigiliana we noticed this cute corner next to Calle Real. There is a tiny staircase leading to brown wooden doors decorated with clay pots and plants.

If you don’t pay attention you will walk right past such places, so this is why I love mentioning every little beautiful corner on my blog so you know what to look for and where! 🙂

15. All shades of blue doors in Frigiliana

When writing about the best Instagram spots in Frigiliana I must mention all shades of blue doors. There are so many that it is impossible to write about all of them.

However, I have to say that I have definitely mentioned the most special ones here. Don’t leave Frigiliana without at least one photo of blue doors, please! 🙂
