Where to eat some quality breakfast and brunch in Algarve? Here are the TOP places you should try and visit during your travels in Algarve. These spots are in no particular order, however, we had our favorites. Just double-check on Google Maps if they are open on the day of your visit! Plus, some of them only accept cash payments!

1. Al-Gharb Coffee Roasters in Albufeira

Al-Gharb Coffee Roasters is a specialty coffee roastery, a coffee shop, and a brunch restaurant in Albufeira. We visited this place twice and both times we got the last available table.

It is usually busy, but you can always wait for a table. We bought their coffee beans as well! They serve toasts, pancakes, eggs, granola, burritos as well as açai bowls and other brunch dishes from their menu.

You can check their menu on their website. They have tables inside and outside as well and you can park your car at the side of the road on the street they are located on. This is one of the most popular breakfast spots in Algarve for sure!

2. The Studio – Coffee Roasters & Café in Lagos

The Studio – Coffee Roasters & Café is another specialty coffee place in Algarve. It is located in the old town of Lagos. This is not a restaurant type of place as their menu is limited, but still, you have different options.

You can get toasts with avocado, eggs, and salmon as well as baked snacks, oats, and waffles. Their focus is definitely on coffee and you are definitely guaranteed quality coffee here. Many people come here to work on their laptops.

3. Black and White Coffee Shop in Lagos

This wonderful spot in Lagos is a must if you are looking for a full package – delicious food (savory and sweet), great atmosphere, good service, and specialty coffee! You will not regret visiting this place!

They serve burritos, toasts, bowls, pancakes as well as baked goods – everyone can find something tasty to eat and feel satisfied. Plus you can buy some coffee beans from them as well!

4. Organic in Carvoeiro

Organic is a family business and is one of the best brunch and breakfast spots in Algarve. They serve a wide range of fresh and tasty food for breakfast and brunch including eggs, toasts, pancakes, smoothie bowls, juices, and so on.

It not only looks very Instagrammable (not that it is the main priority!), but is very tasty and fresh. If you can’t choose a place to go, come here! You won’t regret it!

5. Coffee & Waves in Lagos

One of the best coffees in Algarve is definitely served in Coffee & Waves surf/coffee shop in Lagos. Also – you will be met with the kindest smiles and nicest people.

This is not a restaurant where you can get an endless menu – their options are rather limited, but still, you can get some nice breakfast toasts and other snacks. However, coffee alone is worth a visit!

Twin Fin is a really nice surf cafe and bar in Lagos old town. They serve good coffee and some tasty choices for breakfast and brunch including eggs, toasts, waffles as well as smoothie bowls. They have really chill atmosphere plus the food is high quality and tasty. This is one of the best breakfast spots in Algarve for sure!

7. Brunch in Rio in Ferragudo

We really enjoyed this brunch restaurant in Ferragudo! Although it felt a bit pricier than other spots, the food was fresh and the atmosphere was really great.

You can get nice pancakes, poke bowls, bruschettas as well as smoothie bowls and bagels. They also serve fresh juices and drinks. This is one of those spots where you can come to eat breakfast as well as lunch or come for some snacks with friends.

8. Goji Lounge Café in Lagos

This is a small but nice place in Lagos old town. They serve good quality pancakes, smoothie bowls, and toasts with different add-ons as well as eggs, sandwiches, and salads.

They also have a wide range of drinks available. All in all a really nice place. You should know that they only accepted cash payments when we visited in 2022!

Alternative! There is another breakfast place right next to this place called Sweet & Temptation- Food & Breakfast. They serve pancakes, granola bowls, eggs, salads, sandwiches, snacks, and more. Definitely worth checking out!

9. Love in Burgau

Love in Burgau is a lovely spot in a lovely place. It is located in Burgau – also called the “Portuguese Santorini” because of the white houses with colored doors.

In Love Burgau, they serve beautifully made and delicious toasts, sandwiches, and healthy salads as well as handmade pizzas, drinks, and desserts.

It is a really nice place to go for brunch, lunch, or even dinner but definitely check on their pages if they are open. Here is their Instagram page and here is their Facebook page. Their opening hours differ from season to season.

10. Abigail’s Cafe in Lagos

Abigail’s Cafe is a popular breakfast and brunch place in Lagos Old Town. They serve very good coffee and offer different food choices including fluffy pancakes, toasts with add-ons, burritos as well as baked goods. The menu is limited but the food was of good quality! But their coffee alone is worth a visit!

11. Wild’s Sandwich Boutique in Alvor

I quite liked this unique boutique cafe in Alvor! Their menu includes a wide range of toasts with different toppings, salad bowls as well as breakfast bowls, baked goods, smoothies, and juices.

This is a bit pricier than other spots, however, you can tell that everything is hand-made with love and care for the customers. You can even pre-order their beach boxes on their website for takeaway and enjoy a picnic at the sea!

12. Super Juice in Portimão

Super Juice is a unique healthy food restaurant with a wide variety of healthy choices for breakfast and brunch! Good-looking and delicious granola bowls, avocado toasts, eggs, sandwiches, juices, smoothies, salads, and so on! They have it all – fresh, rich, and tasty!

This is not a place to come if you are a fan of specialty coffee places, because they serve regular coffee, however, this is definitely the place to come if you crave something light, fresh, and healthy during the hot summer! Bring cash with you as they were very reluctant to accept cards!

TIP! There is another place nearby to get some nice breakfast and brunch! Check out Green Heart! It is a bar and restaurant with a beautiful sea view and a menu full of different breakfast, lunch, and dinner choices!
