Let me share with you the most beautiful places in Mallorca, Spain! After spending many months living on the island and exploring it from coast to coast, these are my top places in Mallorca that truly left a mark on my heart.
Mallorca has to be one of the most diverse islands I have ever been to – from rugged mountains on the west to pristine beaches with turquoise water on the east, this island is full of hidden treasures. And we found many of them!
On this list, you’ll find the most beautiful places in Mallorca, including charming villages, historic buildings, spectacular caves, and gorgeous beaches all with photos, descriptions, and locations on the map. Happy travels!
1. Church of Saint Bartholomew in Sóller

Located in the picturesque Sóller, one of the most visited towns in Mallorca is the imposing 16th-century Church of Saint Bartholomew. It is one of the most visited tourist attractions and the most beautiful places in Mallorca!
The majestic church with its intricate stone carvings, large arches, and a blend of Gothic and modernist elements is a masterpiece by the Catalan architect Joan Rubió i Bellver who was a student of the world-renowned Antoni Gaudí, author of Sagrada Família.

Visiting this iconic symbol is one of the must-do things to do in Sóller. We also visited the inside of the church to see its vaulted ceilings and beautiful stained glass windows. I especially loved the rose windows.
The medieval church has become a symbol of Sóller and has been ever-present in many cultural and historical events in the town for centuries. Even today people gather in the main square to eat, drink, and socialize with the church quietly overlooking it all.
Location: Sant Bartomeu Church
2. Caló des Moro

Often regarded as the most beautiful beach in Mallorca, this wild and secluded cove is truly a small piece of paradise in Mallorca. It is hard to find a more picturesque beach in Mallorca than Caló des Moro!
The wild beach boasts turquoise crystal clear waters, pristine white sand, and is surrounded by golden limestone cliffs making it a bucket list place to visit in Mallorca. I have been there many times and also went for a swim. Unforgettable!
Location: Caló des Moro
3. Village of Valldemossa

Nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains, Valldemossa is known for its cobblestone streets, honey-colored stone houses, and the 14th-century Royal Charterhouse. It has long been a place favored by many artists and celebrities.
Practically every travel guide about Mallorca will list Valldemossa as one of the most beautiful mountain villages in Mallorca and a place that must be on every travel itinerary. I couldn’t agree more! It was one of my favorite places on the island!

Some of the top things to do in Valldemossa include trying the local pastry coca de patata, visiting the village’s scenic viewpoints as well as the Carthusian Monastery, and taking a photo at the iconic Carrer Rectoria – the most beautiful street in Mallorca.
Even if you are short on time, I recommend stopping at the iconic viewpoint overlooking Valldemossa and taking a photo of the village’s skyline. We spent a whole day in Valldemossa soaking up its rustic charm, scenic views, and tranquil atmosphere.
Location: Viewpoint of Valldemossa
4. Coves d’Artà

The Coves d’Artà or Artà Caves located in the Northeast of Mallorca is a large network of spectacular limestone caves. I have to be honest – the Drach Caves may be the most popular ones but Artà Caves were definitely my favorite caves in Mallorca!
Firstly, there are no hordes of tourists or crowds because you can only see the cave by joining a guided tour. Secondly, the groups are average. I think we were about 20 people in our group which makes it a more intimate experience.

And, finally, the cave itself. I have been to many caves in Mallorca and around Spain and I have never seen something so spectacular as Arta Caves. I felt like I was in an underground city. The halls and galleries are endless and massive.
The stalactites and stalagmites reach as high as 40 meters high towering above our heads. I felt like a dwarf wandering around Moria (fans of The Lord of the Rings will know, haha)! If you can, I highly recommend visiting this place!
Location: Coves d’Artà
5. Es Pontàs sea arch

Es Pontàs, one of the natural wonders of Mallorca, translates as ‘the big bridge’ and is one of the most unique and beautiful rock formations in Mallorca. I have been to this place three times and the views never disappoint!
Es Pontàs is a natural bridge-like sea arch right off the coast of southeast of Mallorca. You can either see it from the coast at Mirador de Es Pontàs, visit during a boat tour, or swim to it from the coast. We saw many adrenaline junkies cliff-jumping there!
Location: Mirador de Es Pontàs
6. Cathedral of Mallorca

The most striking building in Mallorca’s capital city Palma de Mallorca is the cathedral commonly known as La Seu. It is one of the most popular photo spots in the city and also a symbol of this Mediterranean island.
The Cathedral of Mallorca is one of the tallest Gothic buildings in Europe and dates back to the 13th century when its construction was ordered by King James I of Aragon in the location of a former mosque.
The gorgeous Gothic structure features one of the largest rose windows in the world, a massive 44-meter-high nave, and a stunning chapel inside it designed by the one and only Antoni Gaudí, author of Barcelona’s Sagrada Família. It is a must-see in Mallorca!
Location: Catedral de Santa María de Mallorca
7. Formentor Peninsula and Mirador Es Colomer

The Formentor Peninsula is one of the most epic landscapes in Mallorca. Located at the northern end of the island, this peninsula features sharp cliffs, a rugged coastline, and panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea.
This corner of the island also features one of the most beautiful places in Mallorca – Mirador Es Colomer viewpoint. The popular viewing platform was named after the tiny island called Es Colomer, which you can actually spot from the coast.
Mirador Es Colomer viewpoint and its nearby Albercutx Watchtower are especially popular places around sunset hours when the whole coastline transforms into a canvas of vibrant colors.
Fun fact! Formentor Peninsula is often referred to as the Meeting Point of the Winds.
Another spot to discover on this peninsula is Cap de Formentor – the most northern tip of Mallorca marked by a large white 19th-century lighthouse sitting on a cliff 210 meters above the sea.
Location: Mirador de Es Colomer – Cap de Formentor
8. Port of Cala Figuera

Port of Cala Figuera was one of my favorite hidden gems in Mallorca. Everyone is talking about the famous picturesque mountain villages in Mallorca like Valldemossa, Fornalutx, and others but Mallorca also has some charming coastal villages.
Port of Cala Figuera is my favorite fishing village in Mallorca. It is known for its narrow bay with azure waters, charming white boats as well as the white fishermen’s houses lined at the water’s edge with pine trees hanging above.

We visited the village in the morning and it was the perfect place to go for a walk along the coastline right by all the boats parked in the bay. It is such a postcard village with photo-perfect spots from every angle!
There is a small waterfront pathway connecting two bays so we walked from the port to the next bay and then back. I especially liked the white houses with colorful doors and window shutters. And the wooden boats, too! Super charming!

9. MA-10 road through Serra de Tramuntana

There is no better way to experience the breathtaking beauty of Mallorca than by driving around and soaking it all in, especially in the mountains. One of my favorite things to do in Serra de Tramuntana was driving the scenic MA-10 mountain road.
MA-10 is the main road crossing the Serra de Tramuntana mountains all the way from the north of Mallorca to the south offering stunning vistas of rugged cliffs, azure waters, and picturesque mountain villages.

Driving the whole road would take no less than 3 hours so I recommend driving the best section from Andratx to Valldemossa or Deià. This route travels along the coastline with epic views over the Mediterranean Sea and Tramuntana.
This scenery is like from a movie with one hairpin turn after another, crystal clear water down below, and a mountain landscape far ahead. Don’t forget to stop by viewpoints, charming villages, or cliffside restaurants along the way!
Location: MA-10 Road
10. Cala Llombards

Cala Llombards is the epitome of Mallorca’s natural beauty and coastal charm! Hidden at the southeastern coast of the island, this sheltered, small cove with powdery white sand is framed by pine-tree-covered rugged cliffs on both sides.
Cala Llombards is one of the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca!
Apart from the crystal-clear waters in a turquoise shade, you will also find there charming fishermen’s garages for boats right by the water featuring the typical green doors. The coastal cliffs are pretty low and perfect for cliff-jumping beginners!
Location: Cala Llombards
11. Sa Capelleta Santa Maria de l’Olivar

Sa Capelleta is one of the best-kept secrets in Mallorca! The serene chapel hides in the Serra de Tramuntana mountains a short walk from Sóller and stuns its visitors with its unique blend of Gothic and Modernist architecture.
There’s no way you have seen a chapel like this! The picturesque sanctuary is around 100 years old and features a small altar and stained glass windows. It felt like a little house from a fairytale!

The path leading from Sóller to the chapel winds through gorgeous landscapes and offers unbeatable views over the surrounding countryside. The scenery and the unique architecture make it one of the most beautiful places in Mallorca!
If you peek inside the fairytale chapel, you’ll see the interior that looks grotto-like with stone walls and stalactite formations. I hadn’t seen anything like this before. Simply beautiful!
Location: Sa Capelleta
12. Alcúdia Old Town

The old town of Alcúdia is the most beautiful old town in Mallorca. The ancient town is known for its well-preserved medieval walls surrounding the old town, traditional Mallorcan architecture, and the popular weekly markets.
As you enter Alcúdia through one of its medieval city gates, this charming town captivates you with its narrow streets, cobblestone squares, boutique shops, and quaint cafes. We have visited Alcúdia many times and it is as charming as it gets!

Alcúdia boasts several landmarks like the 14th-century Sant Jaume d’Alcúdia Church as well as the ruins of the ancient Roman city Pollentia. See all the things to do in Alcúdia Old Town here!
On Tuesdays and Sundays, Alcúdia turns into one of those Mediterranean trading hubs you see in the movies. The whole town comes alive with street stalls selling local crafts, fresh produce, and Mallorcan delicacies.
Location: Alcúdia Old Town
13. Jardins d’Alfàbia

Jardins d’Alfàbia gardens take you to some unseen scenery. The lush historical gardens date back to the 13th century when this estate was created by the Moors who ruled over Mallorca at that time.
The scenic gardens feature fountains, palm trees, lush walkways as well as an abundance of exotic plants and flowers. Over the centuries, many of Spain’s monarchs have stayed in this estate when visiting Mallorca.

There is a special walkway where you can switch on water fountains with streams of water dancing over the walkway. Just don’t get stuck in the middle when it turns on or you’ll be wet! That was one of my favorite spots in the gardens.
At the end of our visit, we got to explore the charming 13th-century manor house which features antique furniture and blends together Moorish, Gothic, and Baroque architectural styles. It is not a must-see, but I overall enjoyed visiting this place.
Location: Jardins d’Alfàbia
14. L’Església Nova

Here’s a beautiful hidden gem in Mallorca – Església Nova! Located in Son Servera municipality in the northeast of Mallorca, this unusual architectural wonder is an intriguing landmark to visit on the island.
What was meant to be a full-blown church designed by Joan Rubió, one of the students of the famous Antoni Gaudí, is now an unusual tourist attraction and a venue for different events like concerts, weddings, etc.

There were grand plans for L’Església Nova Church but it never got finished due to the lack of funds so today we are left with a skeletal carcass with Gothic and Modernist elements.
You can visit the church for free during its working hours. It is a public property and anyone can enter there. This place also offers some unique photo opportunities. If you are in the area, it is worth stopping by.
Location: L’Església Nova
15. Fornalutx – the most beautiful village in Spain

Fornalutx is an idyllic village nestled between the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range just a few kilometers from Sóller. Because of the short distance, some travelers even choose to hike from Sóller to Fornalutx.
This charming village is often regarded as one of the most beautiful villages in Spain due to its rustic charm, well-preserved traditional Mallorcan architecture, and dramatic mountain landscapes. See the best places to visit in Fornalutx!

The origins of the authentic mountain village of Fornalutx date back to medieval times when the territory was under the rule of Moorish forces but later in the 13th century it was reconquered by the Spaniards.
Today Fornalutx thrives as one of the most beautiful places in Mallorca! This small village is definitely worth visiting.
We absolutely loved spending a day in this charming little village exploring the narrow streets, picturesque stairways, dramatic views of the mountains, walks along the orange groves and lemon trees as well as just sitting down for lunch with a view!
Location: Fornalutx
16. Coves del Drach

Coves del Drach or Dragon Caves located in the village of Porto Cristo on the east coast of Mallorca are the most famous caves in Spain’s Balearic Islands and probably in all of Spain. These caves have been known to locals since the Middle Ages.
The Drach Caves not only offer spectacular views of impressive rock formations and other hidden treasures but also hide a whole 170-meter-long and 30-meter-wide underground lake named Lake Martel.

As you enter the impressive cave you will first wander around the underground maze and then you will arrive at a large underground hall like an auditorium with seats towards the lake. This is where you will be surprised with a live concert!
There are musicians sitting in a boat and floating around the lake while performing a classical music concert to you. Sounds pretty wild, am I right? After the concert, you have the possibility to jump inside the boat and cross the lake on a boat!

Lake Martel is one of the largest underground lakes in the world and I felt truly special riding a boat in the very depths of the cave deep underground.
Las Cuevas del Drach caves is one of the main tourist attractions in Mallorca and, understandably, this is a popular place among tourists so be prepared to go there with a big crowd. Despite the amount of people, I still recommend visiting these caves!
Location: Coves del Drach
17. The picturesque Deià

Deià, one of the most beautiful towns in the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, is a place that calms your mind and inspires which is the reason it has long attracted famous artists and creatives to its surroundings. See all the top things to do in Deià!
Deià village is known for its picturesque views, charming cafes, and relaxed atmosphere. Many tourists combine a visit to Valldemossa with a visit to Deià right after.

Deià is worth visiting even if you only have time to stop for a couple of minutes before continuing on your journey around the island. There are amazing viewpoints and cafes with panoramic views right along the main road winding through Deià.
If you have more time, I recommend hiking up Deià hill to the Sant Joan de Deià Church and the cemetery next to it for the most scenic views over the surrounding mountains and olive groves. It is a special place, indeed.
Location: Deià
Happy exploring!
Mallorca is one of my favorite islands I have ever been to. Years ago I thought Mallorca was a party island made for beachgoers. Now, after visiting Mallorca 5-6 times it is hard for me to think of a more diverse and multifaceted island to visit than Mallorca.
We spent many months living in Mallorca while traveling around and discovering something new each time we went out the door – caves, villages, beaches, or epic views in the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
I hope you enjoy your time in the turquoise waters, picturesque villages, and crazy landscapes, of Mallorca as much as we did and I hope you get some travel inspiration from this blog post! Happy exploring!
